My name is Wolter Hoeksema (The Netherlands, 2000).
When I was five years old, I started playing classical piano. Since then, I’ve developed a musical language on the piano, influenced by jazz harmony, film and video game music, and minimal music. Besides playing the piano, I love composing and arranging. In my experience, music is a powerful form of expression that can be used to convey and evoke emotions. I try to use my knowledge and creativity in music to help people feel the beauty of this power.
As a teacher, achieving this magical feeling is always my goal. Be it in private piano lessons, while working with groups of students in the regular school system, or when working with ensembles.
On the Home page of this website, you can experience an art piece called FLUIDITY created by Henrico Pops and myself. The concept of this piece is to steer the user into a playful musical flow. Even without prior musical knowledge, playing around with the cursor will result in a harmonious and colorful audio-visual spectacle, that’s always unique
